8:40 pm - blech...
|
or should I say bleach?
I have chlorine poisoning. I want to kill my coworker over it.
Got it on thursday, didn't go to the doctor and starting to wish I had. 2.5 days later and my sinuses and lungs are still burning, and I'm still coughing. Body aches the whole bit... I can still taste and smell chlorine like you wouldn't believe.
Too bad there's not much the doctors could have done even IF I had went right away. Chlorine just has to work its way out. :(
BTW... what kind of stupid idiot puts a whole swimming pool chlorine tab (3" stick to be precise) into the tank of a toilet? Seriously a chunk about the size of a dime is more than sufficient.
In the meanwhile I'm having a threesome with ben and jerry to try and at least feel more comforted though it doesn't help the physical symptoms...
blech.

Your result for The Kink Spectrum Analysis Test... Blue (450 nm)
Wow! You have quite a big repertoire when it comes to kinky sex. And you're probably also willing to play on either side of the fence. You should look for another Blue, or an Ultraviolet if you want to broaden your horizon. Greens may be okay as well but will probably bore you after a while. Reds are too vanilla for you. But I promised you a more detailed analysis, so here it is. Note that most scales are twofold: There are separate values for giving (active) and receiving (passive). If you scored high on one of them, you should look for a partner who scored high on the other. If you scored high on both of them, go for someone who is similar (or for multiple partners if you're into that). If you scored low on both, this probably is not your kind of kink. You scored 68% giving and 46% receiving on oral. You scored 22% giving and 60% receiving on anal. You scored 0% giving and 79% receiving on bondage. You scored 22% giving and 52% receiving on humiliation. You scored 17% giving and 45% receiving on pain. You scored 18% dominance and 50% submission. You scored 63% voyeurism and 40% exhibitionism. Besides that, you're 56% into fetishism and 72% polysexual (i.e. interested in sex with multiple partners, whether at the same time or not). You'll probably want a partner who is similar, whether you scored high or low in these categories. Finally, you scored 41% on autoerotic - a scale that measures your ability and/or willingness to have kinky fun without a partner. It's not exactly a matching criterion, but it's good for you if your score is high. Keep it up! Take The Kink Spectrum Analysis Test at HelloQuizzy

weird dreams last night. so weird that though I got a full nights sleep I feel like I only got an hour or so.
I have the feeling that something is on the horizon because of the dreams, might only affect me, but I can't get a clear idea of scope yet. It could affect things on a larger level.

10:50 pm - fair warning...
|
friday the 13th (the new one) is uber-crap
calling it an hour and a half long gore-fest almost feels like too much a compliment.
no plot no originality nothing you can't see coming 10 minutes away
if I had to pick 1 thing good to say about the movie... and really it's a stretch...
at least the girls running around topless had nice tits before they died
...
I want my hour and a half back

10:12 am - 2008 Nanowrimo
|
So I plan on participating in nanowrimo again this year. But since I finished the dark system trilogy last year I'm stuck in a quandary. I can't continue an existing piece by the rules, but I don't know what to start. So based on some of the random rattlings of stories in my head I present a few choices for the interested to help me with.
If you answer yes to question 1, and really want to read the novel-in-a-month, leave a comment so that I can add you to a readers list. That way I'm not spamming friend's lists with hugely long posts that they're not even interested in.
Poll #1269795 Nano 2008
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllIf posted to a locked (interested readers only) post, would you be interested in reading my babblings? Wouold you rather read/hear my babbling about... I should write this year... The main characters should be...

9:53 am - My one question...
|
somehow I got to thinking about the upcoming elections...
ya I know, bad news
Anyway, I remembered how in the primary process there were many debates where regular citizens were allowed to submit questions. And I wondered briefly if that would be continued into the debates now.
Which of course led my mind to what question I would ask if I only had one...
I thought about the issues, and realized that the main focuses are already well covered. Then my mind drifted back to I think an old PBS interview, don't remember if it was moyers, lehrer, NOW or what. But it stuck, and scared me as well. SO My one question (if I ever had the chance to ask)...
Under the current administration, presidential power has far exceeded the boundaries set forth in the constitution. The system of checks and balances that all American schoolchildren are made to learn of has been broken to satisfy the supposed needs of the executive branch. Under your administration, how would you go about restoring the system of checks and balances so that no one branch of the government has too much influence, and what measures would you attempt to implement so that the system is not allowed to be so skewed again in future administrations?
I know that even if they do continue the style of debates where regular people are allowed to submit questions, that my question would easily be overshadowed by more hot button issues. But it is a legitimate concern to me.

3:25 pm - Review: Expelled
|
Short version: GO SEE IT!!!
Long version:
When we walked into the theater all 4 of us (Jerel, Me, Brennan, Sierra) had the opinion that at worst we would have spent the almost $10/ each to see Ben Stein. When we left we immediately had to move onto a serious discussion of the points laid out in the film, and it was only the closing of village inn that caused it to end when it did.
What we saw wasn't nearly the propaganda that that one trailer made it out to be. It was an extremely well balanced discussion allowing both sides to try to present their arguments and evidence, while questioning that there isn't a similar openness of discussion of the topic within academia.
It was also a balanced showing in that it only begged that the viewer question the lack of serious discussion on the topic, it did not try to sway opinion on the subject itself. My view on the proposed introductions of ID into K-12 classrooms is still that it's religious people trying to force creationism into schools, but I now have a slightly better understanding of the arguments of some other aspects of ID. Mostly how the wider view is much more encompassing of several theories and not just a supreme creator theory.
For the most part I recommend this movie. If you hold unshakable opinions on either end then this movie won't be for you. For the scientists it points out that there are holes in the neo-darwinist concepts that cannot be simply explained away, and for the staunch creationist crowd it points out that many of the core principles of darwinism and evolution are true (natural selection happens, species evolve over time). If you, however, have an open mind and are willing to look reasonably at a controversial subject then I cannot recommend this film highly enough.

So according to Fandango that ben stein documentary will be at the rio 24 in abq. Since it IS a documentary who really knows how long it'll stay there.
Right now those of us in Santa Fe who were looking to go are aiming for the evening of monday apr. 21st as that's the only time we all have available.
anyway, armed with that knowledge... who thinks that they might be meeting us there?

11:58 am - Who's in???
|
So I saw yesterday a mention of a Ben Stein documentary (by him, not about him). I checked out the link, and am intrigued.
http://www.expelledthemovie.com/playground.php
It's about evolutionary science vs. intelligent design. And while I usually see ID as a religious repackaging of creationism to try and force it into classrooms it looks like an interesting documentary. And from the preview it looks like there may be more interesting things discussed than how I've seen ID before.
Anyway... I've already shown the preview to a couple of other people, and we're going to try and see it as a group if it ever makes it to theaters in NM.
So who else is in for a group trip to see this if it makes it to Abq?

You are The Star
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.
The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised
The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

came home to find a pristine egg sitting on the bottom of the cockatiel cage. per the advice of somebody on a bird message board I did not give the birds a nestbox as it would have encouraged them even more.
But seeing as she is still being broody I am having to fight the urge to give them a box. I have wanted baby birds around for soooooooooooooo long that denying that urge when the opportunity is there is hard. Part of my mind is trying to convince me that ONE wouldn't be so bad.
Luckily this first egg was cold by the time I got home. The grate makes it hard for her to properly keep it warm. But I worry now about my resolve with subsequent eggs.
I think I need help... I really do. LOL

11:06 am - Ugh...
|
I HATE colds!!!
Am totally having my ass kicked by a cold this past week. Started coming down with it on tuesday, and we had to cancel a date because of it. We were hoping that I'd be over it enough by tomorrow to try and get together for dinner or something, but the way it's going... I don't think that rescheduling for tomorrow is looking too good either.
Been trying to work on The Tower again. (yeah.. that thing from last year). Was doing ok until brain went squish and this cold then hit me. I do have a little bit more done than was last posted here. So if you guys want me to start posting bits here again lemme know.
I've had a serious case of 'want a new parrot' fever baaaaad lately. I so want a large bird, grey, cockatoo, macaw... something bigger than the birds I already have. Problem is that I don't have space nor money for a larger bird right now. So my thoughts right now are that I'm going to see if there is a parrot rescue in santa fe that I could volunteer at. I've gotten a couple of numbers to at least call and see if anybody on the other end knows of a rescue, and once I get over this cold I'm going to see what my options are.
I think that's about all right now. Laters All!

Listen: http://rantmedia.ca/archive/sktfmshow/sktfmshow-02-20020121-16k.mp3 he goes off a bit on a tangent at first, but once he gets into the meat of scientology you'll understand why I rec this.
read: http://xenu.net
These videos are important because scientology is a dangerous cult. Though I'm not doing more than giving these links and posting the videos I do think that it's important to do so.
what you do with the information is up to you
